Adult Mental health first aid
Focus: Mental Health First Aid for Adults teaches people how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate care. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, psychosis and addictions
Ideal for: All Staff members, community individuals, and concerned citizens
This training addresses mental illnesses and addictions, including risk factors and warning signs. Participants will learn a 5-step action plan to help a person in crisis connect with professional, peer, social, and self-help care. This training can be taught from a general perspective or from one of the following designations: Rural Communities, Higher Education, Veterans, or Law Enforcement.

Youth mental health first aid
Focus: Mental Health First Aid for Youth is designed to teach school staff, caregivers, teachers, parents, family members, peers, health and human service workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.
Ideal for: Adults who regularly interact with young people.
This training addresses mental illnesses and addictions in young people, including risk factors and warning signs. Participants will learn a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including ADHD), and eating disorders.

Suicide prevention gatekeeper training
Suicide prevention gatekeeper training seeks to develop individuals’ “…knowledge, attitudes and skills to identify (those) at risk, determine levels of risk, and make referrals when necessary” (Gould et al., 2003).
This training program is evidence-based and appropriate for training lay people on how to identify someone experiencing suicidal despair, to engage in compassionate conversation, and to connect to qualified mental health resources.
